You’ll be able to get on your bike at the city’s first closed circuit tarmac track this summer! The traffic-free facility will be fun for all riders from first-timers and families to seasoned cyclists.

Located on the outdoor space at Hereford Leisure Centre, Holmer Road, the track will offer a road cycling experience, including a learn to ride area for children and skills sections. The 1km closed circuit track will also have adaptive bikes available for hire to support those with disabilities.

Delivered by Halo Leisure, the Cycle Track is one of our 15 Stronger Hereford projects and is also being supported by Hereford City Council, Sport England, British Cycling and Herefordshire Council.

Here’s a summary of highlights to date and next steps:
  • The sub base of the track has been successfully completed!  It’s a major milestone in bringing this fantastic cycling facility to life
  • Drainage channels and gullies have been installed to ensure a smooth ride by minimising water build-up on the track
  • Next, the team will be sprucing up the landscape around the track’s perimeter
  • Then, they will create a special “Learn to Ride” area for children. It’ll be a safe and fun space where kids can gain confidence on their bikes

We’re super excited about the Hereford Cycle Track and can’t wait to get pedalling our way to a more active lifestyle.
