Each fortnight, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our trailblazing projects and today it is the turn of Hereford Museum & Art Gallery.
Led by Herefordshire County Council, the Museum & Art Gallery will remain at its home on Broad Street but it will be completely reinvented to create a modern visitor experience for locals and tourists alike.
The transformed Museum will showcase the county’s heritage, including the significant Herefordshire Hoard. It will also offer a host of activities and events plus cafe, shop and a rooftop viewing platform. Exciting times!
Right now preparations are being made for the Library and Museum services to move out of their current building. A temporary Library will operate from the Museum Resource & Learning Centre, 58 Friars Street, prior to a new Library and Learning Centre being developed in the city centre (also one of our projects!). For more details regarding the temporary service provision, visit Herefordshire Council’s news article.
Part of Stronger Hereford, the Hereford Museum & Art Gallery is receiving funding from the Government’s Towns Fund. With additional support from Herefordshire County Council.
