We are delighted to announce that the restoration and redevelopment of Castle Green Pavilion is set to start this week.
Friends of Castle Green have appointed local company Vision Building and Development as the building contractors for this exciting project.
Funded by Stronger Hereford, this project will regenerate this much-loved Grade II-listed building on the riverside to create a modern, accessible community space for all, with new cafe and gallery as well as a revitalised home for Hereford Youth Canoe Club.
Granted planning permission in November 2022, the plans for the Pavilion were drawn up by Herefordshire architects Errand Studio, following extensive consultation by Friends of Castle Green to gather the needs, views and ideas of the local community.
The Friends of Castle Green is a volunteer-led Community Interest Company which is committed to enhancing and protecting the Castle Green area of Hereford for future generations. It took over the Pavilion building on a Community Asset Transfer (CAT) from Herefordshire Council on a 25 year lease in 2018 with the aim of restoring the Pavilion to reflect its historic past and re-create it for use as a sustainable community asset.
